The Williamsburg Senior Softball League
 
You have found the best softball experience possible for older adults.
Are you looking for a chance to play organized softball once again? Are you a man over 50 or a woman over 40? Are you available to play on Tuesday and Thursday mornings? If so, we have the league for you!

The WSSL is based in Williamsburg but is open to players throughout southeast Virginia. If you would like to learn more about us, please visit our website and specifically our page for newcomers. Also, don't miss the Virginia Gazette article published about us on February 4, 2023. If you would like to view some of the action in person, feel free to come by the fields and watch our games. 2025 will be the league's seventh year. We had steady growth during our first six years. In 2023 we created two divisions to serve our members better. The Yorktown Division is for younger players or those with a high skill level, providing for competitive softball. The Jamestown Division is for older players (66+ for men, 56+ for women) or those with reduced physicality, providing for more relaxed softball. This division structure will continue in the 2025 season.

Players who haven’t been physically active recently should note that the league has instituted a set of Minimum Performance Standards. New players are encouraged to review the performance standards and consider whether they can meet the requirements.

In January 2025 we will begin our winter indoor workout program at WISC (Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex). This program will include new-player introductory sessions as well as sessions for improving specific skills. We encourage prospective players, especially those who haven't played in many years, to participate in this program. You can view the details of the 2025 WISC program.

WSSL members are a friendly, social bunch. We welcome all seniors who enjoy softball to join us. Our members span a wide range of ages, including a few in their early 80s. If you'd like to stay active, have fun and make new friends, the WSSL might be just the ticket for you.
