Breast Cancer Awareness/Benefit Game

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Williamsburg Senior Softball League (WSSL) is proud to be holding an exhibition softball game to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The women of the league initiated this idea and have taken the lead in organizing it.

Date and Time

Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 3pm

Place

Kiwanis Park, Williamsburg
Picture

Rosters

The benefit game will have a girls-against-the-boys format. The home team will be a women's team formed from the female players of the league. The visiting team will be a men's team formed from a selection of male players, chosen in a manner that will produce two balanced teams.

Spectators

Members of the general public are welcome and encouraged to attend. Admission is free. Children and adults of all ages are welcome. Come root for your favorite gender! Wear pink to show your support! Or Halloween attire if you prefer.

Donations

The league will be collecting donations at the game for the Breast Cancer Foundation. We will have buckets available for attendees to deposit their contributions. We will accept cash or checks made out to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Unfortunately, we cannot accept other forms of payment.
In the past, the WSSL has conducted fund raising at some of our softball games. Our supporters have always responded with great generosity. We trust that they will do so again for this worthy cause.

Venue

We will play the benefit game at Kiwanis Park, 125 Longhill Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185. Players and spectators should go to field #3, which is the one furthest away from the parking lot.
Spectator seating is available at the field on both the first base and third base sides. Seating is limited to aluminum bleachers. We recommend that spectators bring their own chairs to ensure they have seating and that it meets their comfort needs. Note that the home team will be using the dugout on the first base side.

Play Ball!

This event promises to be a lighthearted, fun-filled way to spend a fall afternoon. The air will be crisp, the atmosphere festive. Don't miss this chance to be part of a memorable occasion. We look forward to seeing you on the 29th!
