2022 Preseason Training Sessions at WISC
To help existing players prepare for the upcoming season, and new recruits ease into playing league softball, John Antretter and Steve Chisolm have designed a number of specific training sessions that will be held at the Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex (WISC) between Monday, January 31 and Friday, April 1. The sessions will cover such softball skills as hitting, infield play, outfield play, pitching, and base running. There will also be some general sessions with work on both hitting and fielding. Each session will also include time devoted specifically to stretching.
The schedules for these sessions can be found on our Team App site, and can be accessed by clicking on the Schedule tab, and then on All Entries. You will then see each session offered in chronological order. You can also view an abbreviated schedule of the training sessions.
If you don't yet have access to Team App, see the installation instructions. If you have any problems, you can contact Dick Hoell for help ([email protected] or 425-591-4878). You can also send your RSVPs directly to Dick by email.
The session leaders will be several of our current players and will be identified on the session description. You will notice that there is a limit of 12 participants for each session so please be judicious in the number of sessions you sign up for to ensure that everyone who wants to partake has an opportunity. The sessions are now up on the site, so please take a look and begin signing up if you want to participate.
We know that COVID continues to be an issue in our area, so every player should make their own decision on whether or not to attend. The Board already held back the launch of these training sessions in order to let the post holiday surge run its course. We will continue to monitor the situation and may either pause or cancel sessions in the future. We also strongly encourage you to carefully observe the suggested 6 feet of separation during sessions and to wear masks during any group instruction. It is your option to wear them during the actual drills.
