The WSSL has suspended official activities indefinitely due to COVID-19. The suspension will likely be through the rest of March. The Board of Directors will meet Wed Apr 1. Updates will be issued as our next steps are decided.

[Suspended; will be revised later.] Spring practices are at 10am every Tue and Thu during March. New players go to JCC Rec Center field 1. Returning players go to Kiwanis Park field 3.

Recent Activities and Upcoming Events

  • Williamsburg Next Door Neighbors magazine featured articles on WSSL members Jim Ratkus (Dec 2019) and John Ancellotti (Feb 2020).
  • WSSL members walked in the Williamsburg Christmas Parade on Dec. 7.
  • The WSSL fall 2019 season ended on Nov. 5. We played 28 games in total. Each team played 14 games.
  • An article about the WSSL was published by the Virginia Gazette on May 28, 2019.
  • The WSSL inaugural spring season ended on June 27, 2019. We played 36 games in total. Each team played 24 games.
  • Jan 16, 2020 -- Membership meeting at 10am at the JCC Rec Center, room C.
  • Feb 22, 2020 -- Umpire clinic in Providence Forge.
  • Mar 4, 2020 -- Stretching and Strengthening Clinic.
  • Mar 3, 2020 -- Preseason activities: practice and evaluation sessions.
  • Apr 1, 2020 -- Teams will be drafted in late March or early April.
  • Apr 14, 2020 -- Opening day for 2020 season.
  • Jun 30, 2020 -- Last game of spring session.
  • Aug 18, 2020 -- First game of fall session.
  • Sep 29, 2020 -- Last game of fall session.
  • Oct 2020 -- Rain dates reserved for make-up games.
