League Operation
Softball games will be scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Each team will play a doubleheader. The early games begin at 9:00 am while the later games begin at 10:30 am. Games are 7 innings with a time limit of 75 minutes. After the league has created the game schedules, they will be posted on this website. Cancellations, rain-outs and other changes will be posted here as well (home page). Once the season is underway, game scores and team standings also will appear on this website.
Each team will have a manager and one or more assistants. Managers will be responsible for creating lineups and making decisions during games. Typically managers communicate with their team members by email, text or other means as needed.
The league will not be using paid umpires. Instead, teams will provide umpires from their rosters. Each team will provide an umpire during its turn on offense. Umpires are those who have been trained or will receive training before the season begins.

Calendar
Prior to the spring season, the month of March is reserved for open practice sessions. The league will form teams by April 2, two weeks before games start. Teams will practice together in the first half of April until regular season games begin on April 16. Practice games are scheduled for April 4, 9 and 11. The earliest day for the last game is June 13. That provides 4 dates to make up rain-outs so the season can end by June 27. If games end early enough in June, we will have time for a post-season tournament.
The fall season will be begin on Sept. 5. It will run through Oct. 24, leaving 6 playing dates through Nov. 14 for make-ups or a post-season tournament.
The 2019 WSSL calendar showing key dates is available as a PDF file.

Schedule
The spring season will be conducted with 3 teams of 10-12 players. During each segment of 3 consecutive playing dates, each team will play 2 double-headers and have an "off" day. Players of the off-team will serve as "fill-ins" to supplement the scheduled teams. Using this approach, each team's season will consist of 24 games spread over 18 dates (4 games for every 3 dates).
