2025 Winter Workout Program
The 2025 WISC (Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex) winter workouts will begin on Tuesday January 28th. An initial outline of the schedule and a description of each sessions is available within the Schedule/All Entries function of the Team App. All reservations for sessions MUST be made via the Team App. If you do not have the app yet, please load it on your phone or access the Team App website. See the installation instructions on our website for more info.
These workouts are a great opportunity to eliminate off-season rust (and extra pounds), work on your offensive and defensive skills, and fully prepare for the 2025 season. It is also a great way to introduce new recruits to the league, so please refer a friend or two! See you out there!
Workouts run from Tuesday, January 28 through Friday, March 14. Times, sessions, and session trainers are subject to change (weather and local school schedules, for example) so stay tuned!
Following is a summary of the available sessions that comprise this off-season program.

Session Descriptions
New Player Orientation (Only open to new recruits and new players)
Session will cover:
- A brief overview of the league including differences between the two divisions, minimum performance standards, rookie camp, draft process and our website
- Review of our Team App
- Basic throwing, catching, and hitting drills so players can be assessed and guided to appropriate follow on WISC sessions
Softball Basics (Focused Instruction)
Open to new recruits who have been assessed as needing focused work in throwing, catching, and hitting, and current players who also want the same kind of focused work and personal coaching. It is not intended for current players who meet all of the minimum performance standards. Sessions will cover specific throwing, catching, and hitting drills targeted to help participants improve these basic softball skills, and specifically help new recruits achieve the league’s minimum performance standards.
Infield Practice
Improve your ability to field ground balls and make the perfect throw to get the lead runner. Learn proper situational softball and make the right choice when the ball is hit to you. Drop step pop up drills, charge the ball, how to use your backhand and turn that double play with confidence. Learn proper positioning at all positions, and how to set up for the proper stretch at 1st.
Outfield Practice
Improve your ability to field fly balls and ground balls, situational defense, hitting the cutoff and gain confidence in your defensive ability. Drop step and fly ball drills, cutoff and aggressive ground ball throwing to second/third and home plate.
Hitting Practice
Improve your swing by re-evaluating your grip, bat, stance, and pitch selection. Improve your situational hitting approach. Tee work, pitching machine, soft toss, and other hitting drills.
General Practice/Scrimmage
The General Practice/Scrimmage session will cover hitting, outfield, infield, and situational softball. When the weather allows, we will hold this session outdoors on one of the fields adjacent to the WISC. Outdoor sessions will be announced each week based on the weather forecast and will not have a limit on the number of players. Indoor sessions will continue to be limited to sign-up slots available.
SME/Trainer-Only Sessions
Intended to allow our subject matter experts (SMEs) and trainers dedicated time to focus and work on their own game.
