You have found the best softball experience possible for older adults.
Are you looking for a chance to play organized softball once again? Are you a man over 50 or a woman over 40? Are you available to play on Tuesday and Thursday mornings? If so, we have the league for you!
The WSSL is based in Williamsburg but is open to players throughout southeast Virginia. If you would like to learn more about us, please visit our website and specifically our page for newcomers. Also, don't miss the Virginia Gazette article published about us on February 4.
2023 is the league's fifth year. We had steady growth during our first four years. This year we are creating two divisions to serve our members better. The Yorktown Division is for younger players or those with a high skill level, providing for competitive softball. The Jamestown Division is for older players (66+ for men, 56+ for women) or those with reduced physicality, providing for more relaxed softball.
Players who haven’t been physically active recently should note that for 2023 the league has instituted a set of Minimum Performance Standards. New players are encouraged to review the performance standards and consider whether they can meet the requirements.
On January 17 we began our winter indoor workout program at WISC (Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex). This program is now winding down. Our new-player introductory sessions have ended. Nevertheless, we would still like to hear from interested players. We will try to make a place for you in the league.

WSSL members are a friendly, social bunch. We welcome all seniors who enjoy softball to join us. Our members span a wide range of ages, including a few in their early 80s. If you'd like to stay active, have fun and make new friends, the WSSL might be just the ticket for you.
